SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League has named Kansas City Women's Soccer's Mia Ozanne as the Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week.
Freshman Mia Ozanne wins the defensive award after playing all 180 minutes this week. Helped secure a conference opening tie against Oral Roberts to take a point from the reigning regular-season champions. In the match on Sunday afternoon on the road at St. Thomas, she recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in the 88th minute when she flicked on a header for Olivia Platt to put away the winner. Â Ozanne has played 754 minutes this season
It is the second time this season that a Roo has won the weekly defensive award. Anika Patton won the award two weeks ago after making 16 saves over two matches.Â
Kansas City returns to action this Saturday, October 3rd, when they take on Omaha on the road with kickoff at 4 PM.
