Roos Travel to St. Thomas for Summit League Road Test

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Kansas City Roos Women's Soccer team heads north to take on St. Thomas on Sunday afternoon for their first conference road match of the season; kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM.
Kansas City (1-6-2, 0-0-1 SL) enters its second Summit League match of the season after earning a 1-1 draw against Oral Roberts, the reigning Summit League regular-season champion, Thursday night at Durwood Stadium.
Freshman Olivia Orosco scored the first goal of her collegiate career against the Golden Eagles. A Kansas City native, Orosco attended St. Teresa's Academy before joining the Roos.
Mia Urosevich and Kaitlyn Edwards were credited with assists on Orosco's goal. The assist marked the first of Urosevich's collegiate career, while Edwards recorded the fifth assist of her career.
Kansas City averages 8.6 shots per game, ranking seventh in the Summit League. The Roos have recorded 83 fouls this season, resulting in 12 yellow cards and one red card.
Sophomore goalkeeper Anika Patton continues to rank among the nation's leaders in saves. Patton leads the Summit League with 51 saves, which ranks 20th nationally, while her 6.4 saves per game rank 15th in the country.
Patton has recorded nine or more saves in three matches this season, including a season-high 13 saves against Kansas.Â

Becca Brandt is the interim Head Coach at St. Thomas for the 2026 season, as Head Coach Gretta Macdonald took a leave of absence. The Thommies are 1-6-1 to open the season and 0-1-0 in the Summit League after a 3-2 loss on the road at Omaha. Oral Roberts has scored nine goals this season and has allowed 18. Izzy McEwan has found the back of the net four times to lead the Thommies. The Thommies play two goalkeepers; both have made 15-plus saves this season.Â

This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Roos & the Thommies; KC holds a 3-1-1 record. The first meeting was in 2021, when Kansas City took a 2-1 victory at Durwood Stadium. Kansas City also won the previous meeting 3-2 last season. UST is 1-1-0 when playing the Roos in St. Paul.
