KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Women's Soccer hosts UC Riverside Sunday afternoon with kickoff slated for 1 PM at Durwood Stadium.
The Roos look to get into the win column after a scoreless draw on Friday night against rival Rockhurst; KC outshot the Hawks 16-8, and an opening-season loss to Iowa State on the road.Â
Sophomore Ella Reyling & Freshman Mia Ozanne have played all 180 minutes so far, both at center back. Kansas City has played 21 of their 23 players so far this season. Genevieve Hull leads the team in shots(5) & shots on goal(3). Annika Patton has made four saves on the season playing, and Hayes Fitzgerald has made two, both on Friday night against Rockhurst.Â
Kansas City is looking to capitalize on home-field advantage before they head out on the road for their next two matchups, to Creighton and then at Kansas.Â
ABOUT UC RIVERSIDE
UC Riverside is led by Mike Dibbini, who enters his 2nd season at UCR and his 13th season overall. This will be the first meeting between these two programs. UC Riverside is looking for its first win under Dibbini. The Highlanders have opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Northern Arizona at home and a 1-0 loss at Oral Roberts in Tulsa this past Wednesday. UCR had three players named to the All-Big West teams, two of whom returned for the Highlanders, Spenser Gonzales & Jayla Justice.
