Roos Tabbed Fifth in Summit League Preseason Poll

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Summit League released the 2026 women's soccer preseason polls Tuesday morning.
The Kansas City Women's Soccer Team was picked fifth in the league's preseason poll with 27 points, ahead of North Dakota State, North Dakota, and St. Thomas. The Roos are coming off a 9-8-3 season that included going 3-3-2 in Summit League play.
Kansas City is returning Olivia Platt, who scored nine goals and added five assists and was named First-Team All-Summit League. Ashley Koch also returns, as she was an All-Summit League Honorable Mention and found the back of the net six times and had seven assists in her redshirt sophomore year.
Platt & Koch were named Summit League Players to Watch for the upcoming season.Â
The Roos add 10 newcomers, including nine freshmen and one transfer, Olivia Waters, from Rose State College in Oklahoma.Â
Oral Roberts were picked to defend their regular-season title from last season, earning 48 points with six first-place votes.Â
The Roos open the season this Sunday, August 16th, at 6 PM in Ames, Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones.Â
