Kansas City Roos softball secured a decisive 10–2 victory over the Missouri State Bears softball, ending the game after five inning. The Roos’ offense surged early, while their pitching staff limited Missouri State to just two runs to seal the win.

Delilah Robles won her 11th decision of the year with a complete game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Softball (15-27, 5-9 Summit) Defeated Missouri State (18-26, 6-15 CUSA) 10-2 in five innings this evening. Delilah Robles got the start for the Roos and pitched all five innings while yielding zero earned runs and zero walks. The Roos used a big third inning where they scored six runs to build a lead and put the Bears away early in a run rule.

The Bears led off the scoring with two unearned runs in the top of the first. The Roos responded in the bottom of the second behind a two-run double by Katie Noble driving in Mia Corres and Kim Yepez.

The Roos' defense followed up the work of the offense in the third stanza, as Monica Franklin threw out an attempting base stealer at second. The Roos' offense followed up the defense in the bottom of the inning with a hit by Lauren Parker, a bunt-base-hit from Megan Johnston, then a sac fly to right by Elleana Navarro to drive in Parker. With two outs and the bases loaded, Kim Yepez knocked an RBI single into right, extending the Roos lead to 4-2. Katie Noble then kept the line moving with an RBI walk. Ella Husak followed up the walk with a single past the shortstop to tack on another run. Parker made her second plate appearance of the inning as the Roos drew another RBI walk. Opportunity continued to present itself as the Roos scored their sixth run of the inning on a passed ball, extending their lead to 8-2.

Both offenses went quiet from there, as neither team scored until the bottom of the fifth when Navarro struck a two-run single into center to give the Roos a 10-2 run rule victory. Delilah Robles churned through the Bears order, completing all five innings while zero earned runs or walks.

Kansas City will take on Wichita State tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Urban Youth Academy.
