- Kansas City Men's Basketball opens postseason play with a meeting against eighth-seeded Oral Roberts, a rematch of the Roos' regular season finale on Feb. 28. The Roos and Golden Eagles join Boston U/American and Eastern Illinois/SIUE as squads that are playing each other in back-to-back games for the regular season finale and conference championship opener.
- The Roos are looking to win a game at the Summit League Tournament for the second straight year. Last season, Kansas City and ORU also played in the first round of the conference tournament, a 73-56 victory for Kansas City that saw Jamar Brown score 24 points.
- Karmello Branch came off the bench to score a team-high 22 points in KC's regular season finale, shooting 5-of-10 from three-point range. Branch makes an average of 2.48 three pointers per game, ranking second in the Summit and 122nd in the NCAA. Branch also tallied a career-high five assists in the game against ORU.
- Jayson Petty went for 18 points against the Golden Eagles on Saturday, tying his season high. Petty has gone for 10-plus points in 19-of-30 games this season, including 18-point outings against ORU, North Dakota, Iona and Evangel.
- The Roos went with a starting lineup of CJ Evans, Kasheem Grady II, Jayson Petty, Addarin Scott and Jerome Palm in the regular season finale. It was KC's ninth unique starting lineup used this year.
Oral Roberts Notes
- Oral Roberts enters Wednesday's game with a 9-22 overall record and a 4-12 mark in Summit League play. The Golden Eagles enter the postseason on a three-game winning streak.
- Ty Harper won the final Summit League Peak Performer of the Week in the regular season and leads the team with 17.9 points per game.
- As a team, Oral Roberts leads the Summit and ranks 175th in the nation with an average of 3.4 blocks per game.
- This will be the 48th meeting between the two teams in program history, tying Western Illinois as KC's second-most played opponent of all time.
- ORU won both of the meetings in the regular season.
