The Roos and Bison tip the 29th all-time meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening
Kansas City Notes
- Coming off a 60-59 road win over Omaha, Kansas City braces for a colossal clash with in-conference rival North Dakota State. The matchup between the Roos and Bison will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday night inside the Swinney Center.
- The Roos snatched victory from the jaws of defeat last Saturday as KC's leading scorer Emani Bennett put in the game-winning layup to help Kansas City complete the season-sweep over the Mavs in dramatic fashion. Bennett punched in 17 points while her backcourt mate Tierra Trotter totaled a team-high 19 points.
- The Roos shot a blistering 46.7% (7-15) from three point territory last time out against the Mavericks. Six of the Roos' seven made three pointers were by either Trotter (3-4) or Jamyah Winter (3-9). KC leads the Summit at a 35.6% fixture from distance while Winter paces the league individually, shooting 37.8% on shots behind the arc this year.
- Thursday will mark Kansas City and North Dakota State's 29th all-time meeting, making the Bison the eighth most common opponent the Roos have faced in program history. This upcoming battle is a pivotal one as the winner will break a 14-14 tie in the all-time series. KC is 7-5 all-time against NDSU at home.
- Last season, the Roos beat the Bison 56-51 in the Swinney Center for the first time in the Jackson-Durrett era. Emani Bennett poured in a team-high 16 points and the Roos went on a 21-4 run in the fourth quarter to earn the victory in comeback fashion.
- North Dakota State is in the midst of a historic season as the Bison sit at 20-2 overall and 9-0 in Summit play. Neither of NDSU's two losses came on the road as the Bison hold a perfect 8-0 record in true road contests.
- NDSU is on an 18-game win streak which is tied for the second longest streak in the nation, only trailing the undefeated 23-0 UConn Huskies. The Bison's longest win streak in program history came at 24 straight victories in the 2004-05 season.
- The Bison beat the Roos 77-54 in the two teams prior matchup this season with Jocelyn Schiller tallying 19 points and Avery Koenen registering a 17-point, 16-rebound double-double.
- Koenen leads the nation with 16 double-doubles while averaging 19.1 PPG and 11.1 RPG, both top three marks in the Summit League.
