Hannah Burks kept KC in game two with 8.0 IP and just two earned runs
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Softball (4-23, 1-4 Summit) dropped a pair of contests at the hands of South Dakota State (17-17, 2-0 Summit) this afternoon, losing game one, 15-0 before a 2-1 extra-innings decision in game two. Hannah Burks continued to earn her spot as Kansas City's top pitcher, going all eight innings of the second game and allowing just two earned runs. Her ERA has dropped to a team-best 4.69 in 28.1 innings pitched. Eight different Roos knocked base hits on the day with Elleana Navarro going for the lone extra-base knock and Katie Noble driving in the only RBI.

Bottom 2 / 0-4 | Leilani Bustamante gave Kansas City its first hit of the day with a single that glanced off the Jackrabbits' pitcher.
Top 3 / 0-4 | The Roos rolled up a 4-6-3 double play to get out of the third inning without any damage, but SDSU outscored KC 11-0 across the game's final three innings.
KEY MOMENTS GAME TWOÂ

Top 5 / 1-1 | The Jackrabbits put a runner on third with no outs, but KC was saved by a clutch play in right field by Payton Schnoor, catching a fly ball and doubling off the runner at home.
Bottom 6 / 1-1 | Lauren Parker drew a leadoff walk to account for the Roos' last base runner of the day. Burks kept KC in it, but the Jackrabbits were able to bring the winning run across in the top of the eighth.
