Scouting Omaha
First Five
- Kansas City Men's Basketball returns to action in the Swinney Center on Wednesday evening against Omaha, playing for the first time in six days. On the season, the Roos hold a 1-7 record when taking a break of five-or-more days between games.
- Jayson Petty led Kansas City's scoring efforts in the Roos' most recent game against South Dakota, tallying a career-high tying 21 points. It snapped a streak of three-straight games scoring below 10 points for Petty, his first time this season being held to single-digits in consecutive games.
- Three Kansas City players logged double-doubles against the Coyotes: Jamar Brown, Melvyn Ebonkoli and Cameron Faas. According to Sports Reference, it is the first time since at least the 2010-11 season that KC has had three double-doubles in the same game and is just the 11th time that it has happened across the NCAA this season.
- Brown logged his second double-double in the past three games and his sixth of the season against USD, going for 15 points and 13 rebounds. He leads Kansas City in both points and rebounds, ranking second in the Summit League in double-doubles and offensive rebounds per game.
- The Roos pulled down 53 rebounds as a team against the Coyotes, 20 of which came on the offensive glass. It marked the first time in program history that the Roos surpassed 50 total rebounds and 18 offensive rebounds against a Division One program.
