Kansas City scored its most goals since 2019 to end non-con play with a win
KANSAS CITY - Kansas City Women's Soccer (6-1-3) closed out non-conference play on a high note this afternoon, blowing past Northern Colorado (2-8-0), 4-1. The Roos went up big in the first half, using an opening goal from Lily Stedman and two by Adriana Benassi to build a three-goal advantage. A goal by Madison Page early in the second half sealed the deal for Kansas City, who finishes non-conference play with its most wins since 2019.
KEY MOMENTS | HIGHLIGHTS
- 12' / 0-0 | Lily Hollis found a running Page on the right side of the field, drawing a lot of attention from the Bears' defense as she entered the box. Meghan White found a soft spot in the defense and Page centered the ball her direction. White let a shot rip, glancing off of the crossbar and out of bounds.
- 25' / 1-0 | The same opportunity opened up for the Roos again, this time it was Kayda Kamolz finding a streaking Benassi. Northern Colorado committed its attention to Benassi, who laid the ball off to Stedman for the go-ahead goal.

STATS TO NOTE

- Benassi logged her second brace of the season, the first coming against Emporia State on Aug. 22. She is the first Roo with two multi-goal games since Rylan Childers and Kelsey Mothershead both did so in the 2018 season.
- Benassi and Page both advance to nine total points on the season, tied for the team lead and sixth-best in the Summit.
- The Roos are now 10 games into the season and have not allowed an opponent to score more than one goal in a game. That is a program record, with the previous best being seven-straight games to start the 2019 season.
