5/1/2024 3:13:00 PM | Men's Golf
The Roos will battle at UT Golf Club from May 13-15
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Kansas City Men's Golf's regional assignment was announced by the NCAA during the Men's Golf Selection Show this afternoon and the Roos are officially headed to Austin, Texas to play at the UT Golf Club. The Roos were given the 13 seed in a regional headlined by top-seeded Tennessee and Big 12 Champion/regional host Texas. Regional play begins on May 13 and will be played across three days, with the top five teams advancing to the national championships in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Roos will see some familiar faces in Texas, as 11-seed Grand Canyon also competed in the Wildcat Fall Invitational and the GCU Invitational, while 12-seed Arkansas State was at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate and the Lake Las Vegas Invite. It also won't be the first time that Kansas City has competed in regional play in Austin - KC played the 2019 regional round at the UT Golf Club as well. That year, the Roos took 10th out of 14 teams, the best regional finish in program history.
This will mark the seventh time in program history that Kansas City has competed in the NCAA Regionals, all since 2011 and all under the guidance of Head Coach J.W. VanDenBorn. The Roos will look to qualify for national championship play for the first time in program history.
