Kansas City Places Eighth at Wildcat Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas City Men's Golf Team finished the Wildcat Invitational today, taking eighth place at Colbert Hills Golf Club.Â
Kansas City follows up its ninth-place finish to open the season last week with an eighth-place finish in Manhattan against some good teams from the Midwest, including hosts Kansas State and a Big East member, Creighton.
The Roos were led over the 54-hole tournament by Junior Harry Bent, who finished tied for 15th after rounds of 75-75-71. On the final day, the Scotsman went one-under with three birdies.Â
Leon Heeder tied for 22nd at seven-over this week; he had seven birdies and an eagle in round 2 yesterday.Â
Jack Spencer had the low round of the week for Kansas City, shooting a 70(-2) in round 2, making five birdies in the set of 18 holes. Spencer finished in a tie for 26th.
Playing as an individual this week and in his first collegiate tournament, Jack Williams ties for 39th at 10-over par; he shot an even par in Tuesday's final round.Â
Filiph Dock & Chance Rinkol finish the Roo's lineup, where Dock tied for 52nd on the week, and Rinkol finished in a tie for 61st. Chance did make an eagle on the Par 5 16th yesterday in round 2.
Kansas City will return to the course in two weeks at the Mark Simpson Invitational Sept. 29th-30th, in Boulder, Colo., at Boulder Country Club.
