Houston maintains his dominance in the long jump
FAYETTEVILLE, AR —The Track and Field team set off for the Arkansas Spring Invitational and left no doubt about their capabilities. Starting strong, they grabbed third place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 40.34. Fueled by this early success, the team continued to shine in subsequent events. Mason Rogers kicked off his outdoor season with a bang, clocking a 10.40, securing a 13th-place finish, and claiming the fourth spot in the competitive Summit League rankings. The sprinting events saw further domination from the Roos, with Logan Pratt leading the charge in the 200m with a blistering time of 21.20, closely followed by Junior Powell and Tory Lanham.
In the field events, McKenzie Pearson and Jaleesa McWashington excelled in the long jump, with Pearson seizing the top spot with a leap of 5.98m and McWashington securing third place with 5.95m. Their impressive performances reaffirmed their status as leading contenders in the Summit League standings. Adding to the jump squad's success, Nahshon Houston claimed second place in the long jump with a distance of 7.57m, maintaining his position as the league leader in this event.
