Rocha-Navarro Secures Third Place at Texas State

SAN MARCO, TX —Kansas City Track and Field spread themselves between the best meets in Texas for Easter weekend. The Summit League's 2023 outdoor 1500m champion Ally Ryan started her outdoor season at Texas Relays and, after three and quarter laps around the oval, she secured tenth place with a time of 4:37.87, giving her a third-place ranking in the Summit over the 1500m discipline. Her teammate Joan Rocha-Navarro used the Texas heat to his advantage as he placed third overall in the men's 1500m with a time of 3:52.42. Rocha-Navarro was currently sitting in fourth in the League. Jaleesa McWashington clinched a personal best in the long jump, measuring the leap at 5.95m, which was good for a ninth-place finish. McWashington led the Summit League standings, just like her teammate Nahshon Houston, who sprang himself into a seventh-place finish with a distance of 7.68m and a Summit League first-place ranking. The Roos competed for the last three days but were back in action in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Saturday, April 6th.
