Jaleesa McWashington brought home gold in the long jump and triple jump

FAYETTE, MO —Kansas City track and field squad hit the road to Fayette, Missouri, to launch their outdoor season before they head to Austin, Texas. Jaleesa McWashington proved unstoppable on Saturday, claiming wins in the long jump (5.89m - 19-04.00) and triple jump (11.72m - 38-05.50). Her teammate, Kanyon Olberding, followed closely with distances of 5.36m (17.07) in the long jump and 10.90m (35-09.25) in the triple jump, landing a solid third place. Nahshon dominated the long jump with a leap of 6.95m (22-09.75) and dashed to fifth place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.12 seconds. Despite battling gusty winds, the Roos tackled the adversity head-on as they gear up for the Texas Relays in two weeks.
