
Glazier Earns Podium Finish for Roos at Platte River Rumble

Kaleb Glazier’s top three performance highlights the Roos robust outing in Ashland
All went well for Kansas City Cross County on Friday afternoon as the Roos ran hard and fast at the Platte River Rumble in Ashland, Nebraska. Kansas City saw 16 total runners compete, eight in the men's 8k race, and eight in the women's 6k race. The Roos finished in fourth place out of six competing teams on the women's side, and fourth place out of nine participating teams on the men's side.Â
The men's 8k race was spotlighted by Kaleb Glazier, who finished in third place overall out of 100 total runners in the event. The fantastic freshman delivered a stellar time of 25:41.22, good for the best time not just on the team, but also among all Summit League runners in the contest. Glazier continues to lead the way for the Roos on the men's side, as his time in Ashland marks the second occasion this season in which he has boasted Kansas City's best men's 8k time.Â
Glazier wasn't alone in Kansas City's strong men;s 8k performance, as five other Roos notched top 50 marks. Most notably, Sam Cleary was the Roos second best runner Friday afternoon, finishing the race with a fabulous time of 27:02.39. Furthermore, Athanasius Kibiwott contributed to the cause, completing the race with a time of 27:25.98, good for 31st overall. Underclassmen Evan Kiefer, MJ Foster and Eli Block all concluded their afternoons with top 50 placements as well to aid the Roos with 96 total points and a fourth place team finish.Â

On the women's side, Kansas City equaled the men's side with six top 50 finishers. Taking charge as the Roos top finisher in the women's 6k race was Maggie Boley. The superb sophomore totaled a score of 23:37.2 and came in 15th place among 89 total racers. This marks Boley's second top 25 finish of the season, the first came back in August when she came in 25th place in the women's 5k race at the Bob Timmons Classic.Â
Following Boley for the Roos was Madelyn Russell, who registered a time of 24:17.6 and came in 26th place overall. Kopelyn DeLong finished with a time of 24:47.5, third best on the team and 33rd best in the race as a whole. Fellow Roos, Harper Barlow, Alanie Rivera and Payden Pietrusinski supported Kansas City's cause, as all three runners earned a top 50 placement. Kansas City came in fourth place in the women's 6k race and scored 104 total points.Â

Up next for Kansas City is an annual trip to Vermillion, South Dakota, where the Roos will compete in the Summit League Championships on Saturday, November 2.
