
Nine Roos Achieve Season-Bests at Summit League Championships

Boley and Glazier lead the way for Kansas City in women’s 6k and men’s 8k races
Kansas City began postseason play Saturday afternoon, taking part in the annual Summit League Championships at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, South Dakota. KC finished in seventh place in the men's 8k and eighth place in the women's 6k. On a high note, nine different Roos finished with season-best times.Â
The women's 6k came first at 11 a.m. and didn't disappoint. Kansas City got a team best performance from Maggie Boley, who ran a time of 23:28.34, making it her second best time of the season and good for 56th best in the race overall. Harper Barlow earned the Roos second best time in the women's 6k race, posting a time of 23:36.94, slotting herself at 60th overall. It was also Barlow's second best time of the season behind her performance at the Gans Creek Classic.Â
Following Boley and Barlow for the Roos was Madelyn Russell, who finished in 61st place overall with a time of 23:41.11. Russell was one of four athletes on the women's side who claimed season-best times at the Summit League Championships. Alanie Rivera, Morgan Binsfield and Payden Pietrusinski all contributed to the Roos cause with season-best times of their own. In total, Kansas City got 248 points and came in eighth as a team in the women's 6k.Â

On the men's side, Kansas City was led by Kaleb Glazier, who earned the Roos top men's time for the third consecutive 8k race. Glazier came off a career-best performance where he claimed third place at the Platte River Rumble. This time out, Glazier continued his fantastic freshman season, coming in 35th place overall with a time of 25:54.38 to lead the way for the Roos. After Glazier, Sam Cleary delivered a very strong time of 25:55.96, good for 37th overall in the race. Cleary's performance was his best of the season and he was one of five Roos on the men's side to claim a season-best time at the Summit League Championships.Â
Coming after the Roos two leads, Dalton Heller came in 48th place overall and third best on Kansas City's side with a time of 26:25.80, his second best time of the season. In addition, MJ Foster, Athanasius Kibiwott, Eli Block and Carson Hill all finished the race with season best times. Kansas City totaled 194 points for the 8k race and came in seventh place in the contest.Â
