A handful of RBIs were not enough to put the Roos on top after a strong showing from Evansville early
GAME 1 | KC 8 v UTM 7 | KEY MOMENTS
- Top 1 / 0 – 2 | The Skyhawks came out hot following yesterday's loss. UTM got off to an early lead with a homerun and another RBI to put them up by two.
- Bottom 2 / 1 – 2 | Four Roos were walked bringing in a run and putting Kansas City within one. UTM responded with a home run at the top of the next inning.
- Bottom 4 / 2 – 3 | A single from Kiki McCrea pushed Lauren Parker to second. McCrea and Parker then advanced to second and third, putting Parker in a position to score after a wild pitch. In the top of the fifth, UTM fired back quickly with another home run.
- Bottom 5 / 7 – 4 | Sydney Nichols started the inning off hot, with a single up the middle. Katie Noble advanced to first on a walk and a double from Amelia Fitzgerald brought both Nichols and Noble into score. Taylor Kvale was walked. Not backing down without a fight, UTM brought in three more runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game.

- Top 4 / 2 – 5 | Kansas City came back firing with a single to start the inning. After a series of errors and another Roo single, they added two to the scoreboard. Kansas City got a quick three outs to close out the fourth.
- Bottom 5 / 2 – 7 | A homerun with one on base for the Aces gave them two more runs.
- Top 7 / 3 – 8 | The Roos loaded the bases with just one out in the inning, a hit filed out to center field from Smith allowed the Roos to score another run, but it was not enough to make up the difference.
- In her second appearance of the season, Danielson pitched a career high three strikeouts. Danielson matched her last season strikeout count of four, today documenting one strikeout in the UTM game and three this afternoon.
- McCrea and Smith each had two hits, and McCrea added another RBI. In each game of the Evansville tournament, McCrea had at least one hit.
