Roos Face #3 Oral Roberts in Summit League Quarterfinals

With their 2-0 win over then No. 3 in the Summit League South Dakota, followed by a 0-0 draw against South Dakota State the Roos secured their first postseason berth since rejoining the Summit League.
In the last matchup between the Roos and the Golden Eagles, Brianna Castleberry notched two goals. This was Castleberry's first career multiple-goal appearance and her first two goals of Summit League play.
Riley Moore was named TicketSmarter Defensive Player of the Week for her back-to-back clean sheets against South Dakota and South Dakota State. Moore has earned three shutouts this season. Two saves against South Dakota and another five against South Dakota State bring Moore to 80 saves on the season.
Five Roo players have started in all 17 games so far this season. Those players: Riley Moore, Sophia Limongi, Sophia Smith, Lily Stedman and Brianna Castleberry combined for over 6,300 minutes this season.
The Roos earned five Summit League Postseason Awards, including Head Coach Jess Smith being named Coach of the Year, Brianna Castleberry earning All-Summit First Team and All-Newcomer Team, and Sophia Smith and Sophia Limongi both receiving honorable mention.
The Roos most recent postseason berth was in 2019 while in the Western Athletic Conference. The Roos beat No. 6 Grand Canyon 2-0 but lost to Utah Valley University 3-1.

Oral Roberts Notes

The Golden Eagles come into the matchup off a 5-1 win over South Dakota. In their second to last game of the regular season, Oral Robert faced South Dakota State at home and drew 1-1.
Oral Roberts had four players recognized in the Summit League Postseason Awards. Gabrielle Abbey and Samantha See were named to the Second Team, Kristi Keller received an honorable mention and Carty Kingsbury was named to the All-Newcomer team.
