Track and Field Posts Big Day at Washburn Rust Buster

Ally Ryan claimed her third program record of the indoor season, winning the 800m race
TOPEKA, Kan. - Kansas City Track & Field competed at the Washburn Rust Buster this weekend, and continued to show its steady improvement as the indoor season progresses. Ally Ryan exemplified why she is one of the top runners in the Summit League, winning the 800m run with a time of 2:09.06. With that mark, she set her third program indoor record of the year, also breaking the facility record and claiming the top spot in the Summit League this year.
In addition, Nahshon Houston placed second in the long jump with a mark of 7.34m, claiming the longest jump in the league thus far. He also placed ninth in the triple jump at 13.29m. Jaleesa McWashington claimed a top-10 spot in the Summit League standings by running a 8.96 in the 60m hurdles, placing sixth at the meet. Katherine Hanners claimed the 3,000m gold medal, breaking into the league's top-10 marks on the year.
