Kansas City Notes
- After Rileigh Kuhns led the Roos last year with three goals scored, Kassi Ginther has started the 2021 season hot with three goals scored in four games. Her brace against Southern Illinois was the first time a Roo scored twice in a game since Lindsey Prokop scored twice against Chicago State on 11/2/19.
- Through the first four games, freshmen account for 35% of the Roos' minutes played. Leading the pack is Natasha Richardson, who has started all four games in goal, garnering a pair of wins.
- Kansas City attempted 18 shots in the Aug. 22 win over Missouri State, placing seven on goal. That mark was the highest by the Roos during the Jess Smith era.
- Kuhns has two assists on the year, matching her season total from 2020. Morgan McLaughlin also sits tied for the team lead with two assists, the first two of her Kansas City career.
Oklahoma Notes
- This will be the first time in program history that the Roos have taken on Oklahoma.
- The Sooners are coming off of a 1-0 double OT victory against Nebraska, their first overtime win in the Mark Carr era.
- Oklahoma are led by Bri Amos and Ella Pappas with three points each. No Sooner has scored more than one goal yet this season.
Tulsa Notes
- The last time Kansas City traveled to Tulsa, the Roos prevailed, sparking a five-game unbeaten streak.
- The Golden Hurricane played Missouri State to a 2-2 tie on Aug. 29. Kansas City earned a 2-1 victory over the Bears on Aug. 22.
- Liliana Fernandez, Jadyn Chee and Isold Runarsdottir have each scored one goal so far this season for Tulsa.
