Sandoval Scores in Loss to Creighton

Mario Sandoval found the net in the 81st minute, but it wasn't enough as the Roos fell 3-1
OMAHA, Neb. - Windy conditions at Morrison Stadium in Omaha made for a rough afternoon for Kansas City as they fell to Creighton, 3-1.
Creighton opened up the scoring in the 13th minute with a goal from just inside the box, and while the Bluejays were able to put up 13 shots in the first half, Cooper Clark and the rest of the Roos' backline made sure nothing came easily and Kansas City entered the half trailing 1-0.
It did not take long in the second half for the Bluejays to find the mark, scoring in the 46th minute and again in the 54th. Posession was more balanced, however, as both teams attempted six shots in the second half.
The Roos found the board in the 81st minute on the foot of Mario Sandoval. With Creighton looking to move the ball forward, Sandoval stepped in for a tackle, keeping the ball himself and putting a scorcher into the net from about 27 yards out. The goal was the first of Sandoval's Kansas City career on his fifth attempt of the season. Of Sandoval's five shots, four have been placed on frame.
Dontell Gilyard and Kevin Komodi led the Roos in shots with two a piece. Dennis Mensah, Ben Andoh and Ryan Khedoo were also credited with shots, in addition to Sandoval.
Kansas City (3-7-1) now travels to Western Illinois for games on Thursday April 1 and Saturday, April 3. Kickoff on Thursday is 3 p.m.
