KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Athletics is excited to announce that 83 spring student-athletes, freshmen and transfers were honored on the 2019-20 Academic All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Team. Spring athletes from men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's golf, men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis and softball, in addition to any freshmen and transfers from the other fall and winter sports, were recognized. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
Of those sports, the Roo men's outdoor track and field program landed the most individuals on the list with 14. Right behind that squad is women's outdoor track and field (12) and softball (10).
"Kansas City student-athletes remain deeply committed to academic achievement as a part of our comprehensive excellence agenda. Our 83 student-athletes is a true testament of our prime focus and priorities," commented Director of Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin.
