'Roos Prepped for Four Games in Three Days

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coming off a 2-1 showing at the Oklahoma Invitational, UMKC volleyball will head to Vermillion, South Dakota, to face the South Dakota Coyotes on Thursday, Sept. 1, before traveling back down Insterstate-29 to Omaha, Nebraska, for the Omaha Invitational where they will battle Abilene Christian, Drake and Omaha on Sept. 2 and 3.

Live Stats for Thursday's 7 p.m. CT match against the Coyotes will be available on GoYotes.com, though no live stream will be offered for the match. All three matches the 'Roos will play in the Omaha Invitational will have live stats via Omaha.Statbroadcast.com, and Saturday's 6 p.m. finale against Omaha will have live video and audio for fans. The live stream against the Mavs is available with a paid subscription starting at $8.95 through OMavs.com, but an online radio broadcast will be free to fans on MavRadio.
About the 'Roos
UMKC started the season 2-1 at the Oklahoma Invitational, including sweeping their first two matches. The 2-0 start was just the second in program history (1993), and the first time the 'Roos started the season with two sweeps. Seniors Emma Hagedorn (Parkville, Mo.) and Kaylyn Brandt (Sumner, Iowa) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
About the Coyotes
South Dakota Started the season 2-1, losing their first match to Alabama 1-3, but bouncing back to sweep Incarnate Word and Tulsa. Hayley Dotseth and Audrey Reeg are carrying the offensive load for the Coyotes thus far, with Dotseth tallying 33 kills for the team lead, with Reeg close behind at 32. Brittany Jessen was named the Summit League Player of the Week after racking up 100 assists in the first three matches, averaging 10 assists per set.
About the Wildcats
Abilene Christian has won just one set in their first four matches. Corinne Grandcolas leads the Wildcats with 33 kills, and Kendall Bosse has accumulated 97 assists.
About the Bulldogs
Drake is 3-1 on the season, with wins over Northeastern, Florida Atlanic and Bethune-Cookman. The Bulldogs are powered on offense by Kyla Inderski who has notched 63 kills, hitting .289. Chandelle Davidson has tallied 87 assists for Drake, and Michelle Thommi has been a huge part of the Bulldogs' success, leading the team with 59 digs.
About the Mavs
Omaha lost all three of their matches in the North Dakota Tournament to start 2016 0-3. Sydney O'Shaughnessy has 75 assists and 25 digs on the season, while Kayla Torson leads the Mavs with 26 kills.

Following the Omaha Classic, the 'Roos return home to open the 2016 home schedule with the Kangaroo Klassic on Sept. 9 and 10. UMKC will host Bradley, Omaha, Cornell and Northern Iowa in the five-team tournament, in which each team will play three games.
