'Roos Rally to Knock Off New Mexico State

(Kansas City, Mo.) -- UMKC rallied from an early one-goal deficit to defeat New Mexico State 2-1 in Las Cruces, N.M., on Friday.
Jennae Cambra scored in the fifth minute to put the hosts ahead in the opening minutes, but the lead was short lived as the 'Roos (7-3-2) returned fire with a 35th minute goal by sophomore Emily Herndon to even the tally.
Ellie Chadick put UMKC out in front for good just over five minutes into the second half, depositing a penalty kick to set the eventual final tally at 2-1.
Kansas City outshot NMSU 25-6, putting 11 of 25 attempts on frame. The Kangaroos will head east to UT-Pan American on Sunday to cap the road trip.
