In the deciding set, the 'Roos were tied early at five, but Hendin's career-high 20th kill of the match started a 4-0 UMKC rally giving the 'Roos control. Kansas City would then close out the set and the match with three kills by Hagedorn and two by junior Chloe Jarema, including the match ender, over the final six points to move to 1-0 in the event.
