In the match, the Lancaster, Pa., native posted 42 assists, 13 digs, 10 kills, two blocks and an ace for her first career triple double to lead the 'Roos. Three other Kangaroos, meanwhile, finished with double-digit kills, including senior Kelsey Knoche (16 kills), senior Elizabeth Beck (15 kills) and sophomore Chloe Jarema (10 kills).
NDSU opened the match with a 25-14 victory in the first set, but UMKC quickly fought back to even the match at 1-1 with a 25-20 second set win.
In the second set, the 'Roos built a 12-4 lead after an NDSU error, but the Bison would close the gap to four late at 22-18. Two kills by Beck over the final three points, though, gave the 'Roos the win and evened the match heading into the break.
North Dakota State reclaimed the lead with a 25-16 third set win, but the 'Roos again battled back to tie the match for the second time with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.
In set four, the Bison jumped out to a 5-3 lead, but four straight points by UMKC put them in front for the first time in the set, 7-5. NDSU regained the lead at 16-14, but the Kangaroos would close the set out on an 11-2 run, capped by a Beck kill, to take the set 25-18 and force a deciding fifth set.
In the fifth set the Bison built a 3-0 advantage, but five of the next six points went to the 'Roos, putting them ahead 5-4 nine points in. NDSU would go back in front, 7-5, but a 4-0 run by UMKC gave the 'Roos the lead at 9-7. The two teams then traded the next two points before a 3-0 run by NDSU out the Bison ahead 11-10. UMKC would not go away though, as a 3-1 run by the 'Roos, capped by back-to-back kills by senior Christiana McQuin and Beck, traded the lead for the fourth time in the set and put the Kangaroos in front 13-12. In the end, though, the Bison scored the final three points of the set to avoid the upset.
For the 'Roos, Knoche led the squad with 18 digs, while seniors Kara Thomas (17), Nicole Kerkman (15) and Erin Wellwood (10) each reached double figures. At the net, McQuin posted seven total blocks, including four solo in her final game as a 'Roo.
