
Malloy and Bare Goals Can't Send `Roos Past Jaguars

Indianapolis, Ind. -- The UMKC women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision at IUPUI on Sunday afternoon. The Kangaroos drop to 1-10 overall and 0-2 in The Summit League, while the Jaguars improve to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in league play. In the loss, Meagan Malloy and Taylor Bare each scored a goal.
UMKC went down 2-0 early, giving up a goal in the 10th and 12th minutes. The `Roos then gave up a third goal in the 30th minute to head into the locker room down, 3-0.
The Kangaroos, however, emerged from the locker room a different team, out shooting the Jaguars, 9-6, in the second half. Malloy put the `Roos on the scoreboard in the 42nd minute, taking a pass from Bare.
Bare would then notch her own goal in the 59th minute, after receiving a pass from Ashley Gann and defeating IUPUI's goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
UMKC couldn't find the equalizer, despite applying the pressure in the second half.
Jami Finnell recorded four saves in the match.
The Kangaroos continue in Summit League play on Oct. 9 at Southern Utah.
