
Kangaroos Shutout By Jackrabbits, 3-0

Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 by South Dakota State on Saturday afternoon. The Kangaroos fall to 1-12-1 overall and 0-4-1 in The Summit League, while the Jackrabbits improve to 9-2-4 overall and 4-1-1 in league play.
South Dakota State dominated the majority of the game, but the `Roos had one chance in the first five minutes of the match. Jacks goalkeeper Elisa Stamatakis took out Taylor Bare in the box and the referee awarded the `Roos a penalty kick. But UMKC couldn't find the back of the net in the attempt, as the shot was sent wide right.
The `Roos escaped the first half tied 0-0.
The Jackrabbits began the offensive pressure right away in the second half and scored their first goal in the 46th minute. South Dakota State would tack on two more goals, one in the 55th minute and the final goal at the 68 minute mark.
UMKC was out-shot 13-1 and the Jackrabbits took 12 corner kicks.
Jami Finnell recorded three saves in the match.
The Kangaroos close out the road portion of their schedule at Centenary on Oct. 22 and at Oral Roberts on Oct. 24.
