Shreveport, La. -- The UMKC women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Centenary on Friday night. The Kangaroos fall to 1-13-1 overall and 0-5-1 in Summit League play, while the Ladies improve to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in league play. Despite the loss, Meagan Malloy scored her third goal of the season and Jami Finnell recorded four saves.
UMKC out-shot Centenary 20-7 but couldn't come up with the equalizer in regulation.
Centenary scored first in the 25th minute but Malloy tied things up just nine minutes later, after receiving a pass from Abby Shimota. The `Roos would close out the first half tied, 1-1.
The Ladies didn't waste time and notched the game-winning goal in the 56th minute. Despite the offensive pressure applied by the Kangaroos, who out-shot Centenary 10-4 in the second half, they just couldn't find the back of the net.
The `Roos close out the weekend in Tulsa, Okla., against Oral Roberts on Sunday at 1 p.m.
