
`Roos Go South For Summit League Match At Centenary

Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's soccer team will take its last regular season road trip this weekend, with matches at Centenary and Oral Roberts. The Kangaroos face the Ladies first on Friday at 7 p.m. in Shreveport, La. The `Roos are coming off of a 3-0 lost to South Dakota State.
UMKC is 1-12-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in Summit League play, notching its only win at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 12.
The Kangaroos went 1-17-1 in their inaugural season last year. UMKC landed its only victory last season against Southern Utah, 2-0, on Oct. 16.
Head coach Anita Rodriguez is back for her second season and brings with her 11 letterwinners from last season, all of who saw lots of action. The Kangaroos also welcome eight newcomers to the 2010 squad, seven freshmen and one transfer.
Scouting the Opponent
Centenary is 3-11 on the season and 0-5 in The Summit League. The Ladies are recently coming off of a 5-0 loss at Western Illinois. Kortney Causey leads Centenary with three goals and one assist. The Ladies are coached by Kevin Davies, who is in his 11th season.
Last season, Centenary compiled a 14-5-1 overall record.
The Series
The Kangaroos are 0-1 all-time against the Ladies, dropping a 2-1 overtime match on Oct. 31 in Kansas City, Mo.
Finnell Logs 100th Save
UMKC goalkeeper Jami Finnell notched her 100th save against South Dakota State on Oct. 16. The sophomore finished last season with 159 saves and a 7.46 save percentage. Finnell recorded three saves against the Jackrabbits, putting her at 102 for the season.
Defense Steps Up Against Bison
The UMKC defense was a big key to UMKC's 0-0 tie against North Dakota State. The `Roos faced 21 total shots in the match, eight of which were placed on frame that goalkeeper Jami Finnell saved.
Finnell Leads Summit League in Saves
UMKC goalkeeper Jami Finnell is leading The Summit League in saves and saves per game. The sophomore has 102 saves on the year and is averaging 7.73 saves per match.
Still Going Strong
UMKC has two players that have started and played in every match since the program began last August. Goalkeeper Jami Finnell and forward Meagan Malloy have started in 33 consecutive matches for the `Roos.
Last Time Out: Kangaroos Shutout By Jackrabbits, 3-0
The UMKC women's soccer team was shutout 3-0 by South Dakota State on Oct. 16. The Jackrabbits began the offensive pressure right away in the second half and scored their first goal in the 46th minute. South Dakota State would tack on two more goals, one in the 55th minute and the final goal at the 68 minute mark. UMKC was out-shot 13-1 and the Jackrabbits took 12 corner kicks. Jami Finnell recorded three saves in the match.
Freshman Leads `Roos in Goals
Taylor Bare leads UMKC this season with eight points, three goals and two assists. The freshman tallied both a goal and a assist in last week's 3-2 loss at IUPUI.
Ashley Gann and Meagan Malloy also have two goals a piece for the Kangaroos this season.

The Kangaroos win over the Panthers is the second win in UMKC women's soccer program history. Amanda Casalinuovo scored the game winning goal for the `Roos and goalkeeper Jami Finnell came up big in the win with 10 saves.
