Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's soccer team held up strong defensively to hold North Dakota State to a 0-0 tie, despite two overtime periods. The Kangaroos are now 1-11-1 overall and 0-3-1 in The Summit League, while the Bison are 7-4-4 overall and 2-2-1 in league play.
The Bison were a constant threat all evening, recording 21 shots and taking 14 corner kicks. But the UMKC defense held strong with several key saves by Jami Finnell and great marking by the defense.
UMKC only recorded three shots in the contest, but maintained good possession throughout the whole game. Despite intensity from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net.
Finnell recorded eight saves on the night.
UMKC will host South Dakota State on Sat., Oct. 16.
