
Kangaroos Host Bison At DSSRF On Thursday

Kansas City, Mo. -- The UMKC women's soccer team is back at home for its first Summit League game at Durwood Soccer Stadium and Recreational Field. The Kangaroos host North Dakota State on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The `Roos are coming off of a 2-0 loss at Southern Utah on Oct. 9.
UMKC is 1-11 on the season and 0-3 in Summit League play, notching its only win at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 12.
The Kangaroos went 1-17-1 in their inaugural season last year. UMKC landed its only victory last season against Southern Utah, 2-0, on Oct. 16.
Head coach Anita Rodriguez is back for her second season and brings with her 11 letterwinners from last season, all of who saw lots of action. The Kangaroos also welcome eight newcomers to the 2010 squad, seven freshman and one transfer.
Scouting the Opponent
North Dakota State enters DSSRF with a 7-4-3 overall record and is 2-2 in Summit League play. The Bison are coming off of a 2-1 overtime win over IUPUI. Brooklyn Dyce leads NDSU with five goals this season and Kalani Bertsch has 25 saves on the year.
The Series
The Kangaroos are 0-1 all-time against the Bison. UMKC dropped a 5-1 match at Fargo on Oct. 25. Last time against the Bison, Zaina Mayer scored the `Roos lone goal in the 62nd minute.
Finnell Leads Summit League in Saves
UMKC goalkeeper Jami Finnell is leading The Summit League in saves and saves per game. The sophomore has 91 saves on the year and is averaging 7.71 saves per match.
Still Going Strong
UMKC has two players that have started and played in every match since the program began last August. Goalkeeper Jami Finnell and forward Meagan Malloy have started in 31 consecutive matches for the `Roos.
Last Time Out: 'Roos Fall 2-0 At Southern Utah
The UMKC women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Southern Utah on Oct. 9. In the loss, sophomore Jami Finnell recorded 11 saves and Meagan Malloy led with two shots, placing two on frame for the 'Roos.
Freshman Leads `Roos in Goals
Taylor Bare leads UMKC this season with eight points, three goals and two assists. The freshman tallied both a goal and a assist in last week's 3-2 loss at IUPUI.
Ashley Gann and Meagan Malloy also have two goals a piece for the Kangaroos this season.
`Roos Defeat Panthers 1-0 To Pick Up First Win Of Season
The UMKC women's soccer team recorded its first victory of the 2010 season at Eastern Illinois on Sept. 12, 1-0. The Kangaroos win over the Panthers is the second win in UMKC women's soccer program history. Amanda Casalinuovo scored the game winning goal for the `Roos and goalkeeper Jami Finnell came up big in the win with 10 saves.
