Hungry for First Win
The UMKC women's soccer team is 0-9-1 in its inaugural season but aren't down and out just yet. The Kangaroos open up Summit League play this weekend and the hopes are high that their difficult non-conference schedule has prepared them for conference play. Despite their difficult non-conference schedule, the `Roos have been in every game, only dropping games by one or two goals to established programs.
Injuries Plague `Roos
The UMKC Kangaroos have been plagued by injuries for the majority of the 2009 season but have still managed to compete with opponents. The `Roos have had seven players suffer concussions this season and have had several other nagging injuries, resulting in the bench being bare. UMKC will welcome back Randi Simmons this weekend and hope to have Valerie Martin, Sarah Schultehenrich and Alyssa D'Egidio 100 percent in a couple of weeks.
