2011 -- Appeared in two games as a defender against Saint Louis (Sept. 11) and Missouri State (Sept. 16).
2010 -- Started in 13 games and appeared in 14 before suffering a season-ending injury against South Dakota State (Oct. 16)... recorded a .667 shot-on-goal percentage as a defender... took three shots total, tallied two on frame.
2009 -- Started 17 games, while appearing in 18 contests as a freshman... finished the season with a perfect 1.000 shot-on-goal percentage as a defender... lone shot was taken at Oakland (Oct. 2)... named to The Summit League Fall Academic all-League team.
High School -- Two-year letterwinner at Pleasant Valley Community High School... served as team captain as a junior... earned all-conference second team, all-state honorable mention, and academic all-conference honors as a junior... helped lead team to a pair of state tournament appearances... guided PVCHS to a 2A conference runner-up finish in 2007 and to the 2A conference championship in 2008... a member of Academic Excellence from 2006-09... a participant in Young Life, a Wyld Life leader and a youth soccer coach for FC America... also earned three varsity basketball letters.
Personal -- Born on April 12, 1991, in Iowa City, Iowa... daughter of Dr. Scott Alpen and Deb Alpen... has one younger brother, Ben... has had several relatives play collegiate sports... cousin, Robin Pingeton, is the current basketball coach at Illinois State University... cousin, Mike Boddicker, played professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles (1980-88), where he was voted World Series MVP, the Boston Red Sox (1988-1990), the Kansas City Royals (1991-92) and the Milwaukee Brewers (1993)... was a member of the QC United club soccer team for six years, served as team captain and earned six championships... played club soccer for the Geneseo Explosion for three years and recorded 11 tournament championships... majoring in biology (pre-med).
