Geraint Shirley came to UMKC as a graduate assistant for the track and field team during the 2014-15 season. He helped coach the girls track team to the 2015 WAC Outdoor championship. Shirley graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Technology, Jamaica in 2004. He was a four-time intercollegiate champion in the triple jump, and a two-time All-Island champion in the triple jump.
