2013-14 -- Played in a reserve role in singles, posting a 1-3 mark in the fall... He was in the starting lineup for 10 matches in doubles play during spring duals, putting up a 2-10 record at the No. 3 position.
At Johnson County CC -- An Academic All-American, he was ranked as high as No. 6 in the ITA singles rankings, and No. 10 in the doubles rankings at the junior college level... As a freshman he was named NJCAA Rookie of the Year, while earning the JCCC Cavalier Award... He went 15-4 during that freshman season, and earned MVP honors... As a sophomore, he was 15-7 overall... He earned men's tennis academic award, and Academic Athlete of the Year for the highest GPA at JCCC.
In High School -- Competed at Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kan for head coach Kevin Hedberg... He was a four-time all-city selection, and team captain two years there, while qualifying for Kansas Class 6A state each year... As a freshman he finished sixth in the state in doubles while his team finished sixth... His sophomore season he was ninth in the state in singles and the team was fifth overall... During his junior year he took fifth in singles and the team was fourth... As a senior he was the regional champion, league champion, and finished fifth place at the state championships, helping the team to a third place finish... He also played soccer, helping the squad to a state title as a junior... De Zamacona also made the honor roll all four years.
Personal -- Born May 9, 1992 in Monterrey, N.C... Son of Carlos De Zamacona and Irene Caballero... Has two older siblings, Andrez and Carlos... Majoring in business.
