Roos Bested in Mid-Week Matchup Against Tulsa

Kansas City scored three runs on three hits in the loss

Kansas City, Mo. - Kansas City Softballl (12-21, 3-6 Summit) fell to Tulsa (14-23, 5-10 AAC) this afternoon, 6-3. The Roos scored three runs on three hits, committing no errors on the day. Alyssa Droge earned the start, going for five innings of work with five runs scored. Katie Noble came on for two innings of relief work, allowing just one run to come across. Ellla Husak, Adelyn French and Lauren Parker all crossed home plate for the Roos.

Tulsa got things going early with three runs in the first two innings, highlighted defensively by a throw from Parker in left field to gun down a runner attempting to score from second on a single. Parker's assist got the Roos out of a dangerous first inning with minimum damage and kept the Roos in the game.

Kansas City settled down across the next couple of innings as Droge went across the third and fourth with no runs allowed. This gave the KC bats a chance to get going, scoring their first run of the game via a Katie Noble sacrifice fly that brought Husak in.

The Golden Hurrican responded with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, but the Roos responded in the bottom of the inning by taking advantage of Tulsa errors. French reached base in a pinch-hitting situation, rounding the bases after errors on at-bats from Parker and Husak. The Roos' final run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh as Parker tripled and later came in to score on an RBI from Elleana Navarro.

Kansas City returns to Summit League action this weekend, hosting North Dakota for three games.
