
Kansas City Signs Alyssa Nielsen

Nielsen brings 93 games of Division I experience to the Roos
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women's Basketball has made their fourth addition via the transfer portal and first from the Division I level by announcing the signing of Alyssa Nielsen on Wednesday morning. Nielsen is a 6'0 forward from Bixby, Okla. and spent the first three years of her career at Lindenwood, appearing in 93 games while making 14 starts for the Lions from 2023-26.Â
In that span, Nielsen averaged 5.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 18.2 minutes per game in St. Charles. The veteran wing accumulated double figure scoring totals 15 times, four of which came in the Lions 2025-26 campaign where Nielsen averaged 4.6 PPG and boasted a career-best 35% shooting from three point range.Â
In 2023-24, Nielsen was third on the Lions in scoring, averaging 8.2 PPG and fourth on the team in rebounding, averaging 3.5 RPG. Nielsen played in 26 games while making 13 starts as a freshman that year.Â
For high school, Nielsen attended Bixby HS and was named OGBCA All-State and OCA All-State while holding All-State honorable mention stats by the Tulsa World and The Oklahoma in both her junior and senior seasons. Nielsen was also named academic all-conference all four years at Bixby. Additionally, Nielsen's younger sister Ashley is a current freshman on the Kansas City Volleyball team.
