
Kansas City Signs Avery Marchino

The Roos ink the 2025-26 KJCCC Player of the Year
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Women's Basketball has begun the process of building the 2026-27 roster by signing Avery Marchino on Friday. Marchino is a 6'0 guard transferring in from Seward County.
"I chose to play at Kansas City because of the belief the coaches have in me to be great," Marchino said. "I also chose Kansas City because of the culture being built to win and win now! The belief in the basketball programs by the school was something that was also very important to me when making my decision!"
Marchino spent two seasons with the Saints, the latter of which saw the Yukon, Okla. native earn KJCCC Player of the year and 3rd Team NJCCC All-American honors. As a sophomore this past season, Marchino averaged 20.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 41.2% from three point range and 81.6% from the free throw line. Marchino was the only player in her conference to average over 20 points per game while ranking third in the conference in three point percentage and fourth in free throw percentage.
Before joining the Saints, Marchino played at Bethany High School and graduated in 2024. In her time at Bethany, Marchino was a four-year letterwinner in basketball, playing under Eric Sailer. As a senior, Marchino was a OGBCA All-State selection and the OCA All Star team while leading her team to back-to-back state championships from 2022-24. Marchino was also the valedictorian of her senior class and was a three-time all-conference pick in soccer.
