KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A fourth local prospect has been added to the Kansas City Men's Basketball signing class as the addition of Lincoln Goodwin was announced today. Goodwin is a 6'6 guard from nearby St. Joseph and recently led Benton High School to a Class 4 third-place finish.
"I chose Kansas City to be around great people," Goodwin said. "I couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay close to home and play in front of family and friends."
Goodwin played for Coach Jared Boone at Benton, averaging 23.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game in his senior season. He piled up the accolades throughout his high school career, earning Class 4 All-State designation twice, MEC Player of the Year twice, District Player of the Year twice and All-City Player of the Year three times. He was a DiRenna award finalist and led Benton to two district championships and a Class 4 runner-up finish to go along with last year's third-place trophy.
In addition to basketball, Goodwin also played golf and was a member of the National Honors Society. He played club ball for MOKAN EYBL and Coach Matt Glover.
Goodwin was born in St. Joseph on Dec. 27, 2007 to parents Brett and Kristin Goodwin. Brett played basketball at Missouri Western and Kriston played softball at Northwest Missouri State. He has two siblings, Alton and Payton.
