
Men's Basketball Signs Atuka Bakhtadze

Bakhtadze is a 7'0 forward with experience on the Georgian National Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Men's Basketball continues to build out its 2026-27 roster, officially adding Georgian national Atuka Bakhtadze today. Bakhtadze is a 7'0 power forward/center who most recently played for Dream City Christian and Peak Basketball Academy.
"I chose to play at Kansas City because it felt like the best fit for me," Bakhtadze said. "The coaches believed in me and made me feel welcome, and I trust their plan for my development. I also like the competitive environment and I know I can grow both on and off the court."
Bakhtadze played on the EYBL Scholastic circuit in 2025-26 with Dream City and Coach Kyle Weaver, appearing in 14 games and averaging over 10 minutes per game. He scored 4.2 points and pulled down 2.0 rebounds per game, adding 10 total assists and four total blocks. He aided Dream City to an 8-6 record in conference play, qualifying to the 2026 EYBL Scholastic Tournament.
He has also spent time on the international scene, playing for BC Nevežis, BC Žalgiris and the Georgian national team. His most recent appearance with the national team came for in the 2025 U20 EuroBasket Division B, where he averaged 9.5 points and 6.0 rebounds across four games.
Bakhtadze also played in the U18 EuroBasket Division B in 2024, going for 14.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. In seven appearances at the U16 European Championship Division B level in 2023, he averaged 18.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, leading the team to a third place finish.
While playing for BC Žalgiris U18 in 2023-24, Bakhtadze averaged 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Bakhtadze was born in Kutaisi, Georgia to parents Manuchar Bakhtadze and Lia Margvelashvili on Sep. 19, 2007. He has one sibling, Mariam.
