
Roos Trio Named to Summit Academic All-League Teams

All three athletes boasted cumulative 4.0 GPA's following this past indoor track and field season
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Kansas City Track and Field saw strong representation on the recently released Summit Indoor Academic All-League Teams. with Alanie Rivera being awarded a spot on the women's team while Connor Jacober and Kai White took spots men's side. This is Kansas City's second consecutive indoor season with multiple bids to the conference academic teams, with White and Shavelle Shaw receiving placements on the 2025 Summit Academic All-League Teams.Â
Following an Academic All-League bid in cross country season, Rivera posted a 4.0 GPA while dual-majoring in psychology and criminology. The Kissimmee, Fla. native is one of six other women athletes to achieve a 4.0 following an impressive senior campaign. Rivera ran a personal record time of 10:46.16 in the 3000-meter dash at the Missouri Invitational where she also finished in 11th place in a stacked field of competitors. Rivera then ended the season off with a bang, dashing another career best 5:08.03 in the mile and placing in the top 20 in the event.Â
Following an Academic All-League bid in cross country season, Jacober earned a 4.0 GPA in the classroom, majoring in mechanical engineering. The Shawnee, Kan. native is one out of 10 other male athletes on the academic all-league team this year. Jacober ran a career-best 2:37.33 in the 1000m at the Mizzou Alexis Jarrett Invitational and placed fourth. Jacober also opened the indoor season setting a personal best in the mile, running a 4:32.85 time at the Crimson & Gold Invitational.Â
White grabs his second career conference academic team bid for indoor season after earning a 4.0 GPA while majoring in statistics. The Kansas City native ran in eight of the Roos mets during indoor season, finishing with a 4:26.89 in the mile at the Crimson and Gold Invitational, which is a career best. The senior distance runner also placed sixth in the DMR with a time of 11:07.62 at the Summit Indoor Championships this past February.Â
