Roos Drop Trio of Games to League-Leading Mavericks

Kansas City tallied a series-high four hits in the series finale
OMAHA, Neb. - Kansas City Softball (9-20, 0-6 Summit) was swept by Omaha (24-7, 6-0 Summit) across three games this weekend. All three games ended by run-rule, with the Roos pushing two of the three games to six innings.
In the series opener, Kansas City's Delilah Robles held the Mavericks to just two runs across the first three innings, but a five-run fourth put the game out of reach. Alyssa Droge came on in relief to pitch the final 1.2 innings, allowing three earned runs. The Roos went for three hits on the game, one each from Ella Husak, Megan Johnston and Katie Noble.
Noble earned her second pitching start of the season in game two, pitching the first two innings scoreless before Omaha jumped out in the third. Brooke Seppi pitched the final inning, keeping the Mavs scoreless in the fourth and striking out one. Maya Anthony went for KC's lone hit of the game, a second inning two-out double.
The Mavericks took a four-run lead in the first inning of the series finale, but Seppi and Droge combined to allow just one earned run in the second through fifth innings. Kansas City's bats got going a bit stronger in the finale, going for back-to-back hits from Johnston and Noble in the first and then Lauren Parker and Husak in the sixth.
Kansas City travels to South Dakota State for a three-game series next weekend.
