Quartet of Roos Tabbed to Summit Outdoor Athletes to Watch List
3/24/2026 10:00:00 AM | Track and Field
Tory Lanham, Stephen Clunis, Jacky-Perez Vela and Naomi Eyanagho were KC's representatives for the league-wide preseason list
Lanham is the defending outdoor 200-meter dash champion while Clunis just earned the 60-meter dash title from the indoor season. Meanwhile, Perez-Vela set a 400-meter school record while grabbing third place at the indoor conference meet. Eyanagho will look to to represent the Roos well in the heptathlon as the junior finished 10th in last year's outdoor conference meet.Â
Additionally, the conference came out with their preseason poll, voted on by each Summit head coach. The Roos snagged sixth in both the men's and women's polls respectively. Last season, the Roo men finished seventh, garnering 58 points as a group at the 2025 Summit Outdoor Championships while the women tallied a sixth place finish, totaling 15 points as a unit.
The Roos gathered 12 points on the men's side, tying Oral Roberts' 12 points and finishing just behind North Dakota and St. Thomas, both of which scored three more points than KC with 15. The Roo women gained 19 points, finishing above Oral Roberts and Omaha while coming in just below North Dakota State and St. Thomas, both of which tallied 29 points in the preseason poll.Â
