Kansas City Takes Third in Jackrabbit Invitational

Jack Spencer and Mason Haley tied for fifth place individually at -4

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Kansas City Men's Golf was back in action this week, taking third place in the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Boulder Creek Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The Roos got off to a hot start, totaling a -5 score on 283 strokes through the first round as a team. Following a +7 round two, KC regained control of the course, shooting -4 in the final round to propel themselves into a podium finish.

Mason Haley and Jack Spencer led the way for Kansas City with both underclassmen shooting -4 overall and going under par in two of three rounds. Spencer started at -3 before shooting even par in round two and polishing off a fine day on the course with a -1 in round three to cement a top five placement for the freshman. Haley finished day one at -5 before going +1 on the final day of competition to close out another solid outing of golf for the sophomore.

Ben Solum and Harry Bent were Kansas City's next best golfers on the course, finishing in a tie for 36th after shooting +6 overall.
