Haley Leads Roos Forward at Lake Las Vegas Invitational

Kansas City opened the spring season in the Sin City
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Kansas City Men's Golf begun the 2026 spring season this week, taking 11th place as a unit at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational. The Roos finished at +15 for the tournament, going +11 on the first day, -2 on day two and +6 on the third day of competition. KC scored 19.35 points in total, finishing above the likes of Eastern Michigan, Southern Illinois, Long Island and George Washington.Â
Kansas City was led by Mason Haley who finished in a tie for eighth place individually, totaling 211 strokes through three rounds of competition while also coming in five strokes under par and going -3 and -4 on days two and three respectively. Haley was the lone Roo to close the tournament under par, however KC did see two more Roos finish within the top 50 competitors.
Max Cooper notched a steady 221 strokes and +5 over par for the tournament, going +1 on both of the final two days of competition and coming in a tie for 42nd place overall. Ben Solum came in a tie for 49th, running up a total of 222 strokes and six hole over par. Solum went +7 and +4 on day's one and three but saw a -5 day in between the two, marking the best one-day result by a Roo in the tournament.Â
Kansas City returns to action on March 9-10 in the Jackrabbit Invitational.Â
