The award is Lanham's third weekly Summit honor of the indoor season and sixth of his career
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- For the second time in a row and third time in the 2025-26 indoor season, Kansas City's Tory Lanham has brought home Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. The Roos competed in the annual Tyson Invitational, where Lanham posted his best indoor 200-meter dash time yet, clocking 20.85 seconds to finish eighth in the event and reset the school record in the process.Â
Lanham's new indoor 200m PR tops the Summit League leaderboard and ranks as the lone sub-21 second time in the conference for the event. On the national scene, Lanham is tied with a bevy of runners for the 37th fastest 200m time in the current indoor season. Additionally, Lanham's holds the eighth fastest time in the country among non-power five schools, putting him in elite company at the Division I mid-major level.Â
It's been a busy sophomore indoor campaign for Lanham as the Kansas City, Mo. native has set the KC school record for the 200, 300 and 400-meter dashes all in just the last three months. Lanham began the year running a 33.47 second time in the 300-meter dash at the Crimson & Gold Invitational before setting the current Summit lead of 47.62 in the 400m at the Husker Holiday Open.
Lanham won his first Summit Peak Performer of the Week honor after his 400m school record 47.62 performance in December. The former Oak Park HS product tallied a 20.93 second time at the Missouri Invitational which netted him his second weekly award of the indoor season. Following his third of the year, Lanham now boasts six Summit 'Peak Performer' designations for his career.Â
Lanham and company conclude the indoor regular season in Lincoln, Neb. this Friday as the Roos brace for the Nebraska Tune Up.Â
