Kansas City earned first place in the men's 200, 800 and women's shot put
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Kansas City Track & Field returned to the Hearnes Center at Missouri to participate in the Show Me Showdown on Friday afternoon. The Roos faired well against their fellow in-state competitors, racking up first place finishes in three events. Kansas City took the crown in the men's 200 and 800-meter dashes and the women's shot put.Â
The 400-meter dash commenced with Kansas City's Tory Lanham grabbing first place with a superior time of 21.14 in his first 200 race of the season. The 2025 outdoor season All-American had ran in the 400, 300 and 60-meter dashes so far, earning career-bests in the former two and setting a program record of 47.62 at the Husker Holiday Invitational. More success was brought to the men's side as M.J. Foster boasted a time of 1:53.95 in the 800-meter dash, earning him first place and coming nearly within a second of his career-best and putting him sixth in the Summit League this indoor season.Â
On the women's side, Naomi Eyanagho produced a meet-best 14.49 meter mark in the women's shot put. Eyanagho's best shot put mark came earlier this indoor season at the Crimson & Gold Invitational as the junior sported a mark of 14.80 meters, still ranking as the third best shot put mark in the Summit League. Maddie Dial ran a career-best in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 56.95 in Columbia Friday afternoon. Dial notched fifth place in the event and the time also ranks fifth in the Summit League for the women's 400m this indoor season.Â
Kansas City returns to Missouri for a third straight weekend next Saturday for the Bob Teel Invitational.Â
