Mason Haley leads the way for Kansas City at -1 on the par 72 course
MANHATTAN, KAN. - Kansas City Men's Golf began the fall season of their 2025-26 campaign with a top five finish at the Wildcat Invitational. The Roos shot 887 and +23 as a team, the fifth lowest total out of the 14 participating units. Kansas City got better as the tournament went on, scoring a 303 in round one, 293 in round two and 291 in round three. The Roos finished above fellow Summit League opponents South Dakota, Omaha and North Dakota while closing just below second-placed South Dakota State.Â
Individually, Mason Haley was KC's top performer as the sophomore totaled 215 which sat at -1 for the invitational, making him the only Roo to notch a below par score. The reigning Summit League Newcomer of the Year registered a below par score of -1 in rounds one and three and shot a +1 in round two. Haley's 215 total was tied for the fifth best individual score among 75 golfers in the tournament. Additionally, Haley was one of just eight golfers to record a below par result across all three rounds.Â
